In trouble. Trying to get out of trouble. inducing other people to get into trouble. Bailing other people out of trouble. Always in trouble.

Really. Studying is such a pain in the ass without it and everybody knows I HATE USING MY DESKTOP! I HATE IT. HATEITHATEITHATEIT
Yes, you may picture a kid in a toy store not getting the latest pokemon thingum sort of wail.
No offence taken.
I really need a new frustration noise. One word that would express my hair tearing out guitar bashing rage at the world. Urgh just does not even cut it anymore.Nowhere close. I need a "me" sound. A cross between an orkut and urukai sound. Like a guttural soul ripping sound.
The world is so limited for my palate.
(I just felt like proclaiming that.)

Dear Heath,
I know that you and I have always had this special connection ever since I saw you in "10 things I hate about you" and I truly believed that someday we will be together. Starcrossed as we may be, I truly thought ours was meant to last.
But, Heath, I'm really sorry. This can't work out anymore. I have met someone else. He's called Sendhil from the NBC drama Heroes. He's darker, delicious-er and much much more smouldering. Not that you aren't! Well you aren't, you boyish charmer! But I do wish to reassure you that you will always occupy a special place in my heart. (Atleast your dimples will!!) I will be watching whatever Singapore TV shows of you until they FINALLY decide to air this series in 2068.( Can you believe it Heath, we only got Season ONE of Prison Break in Septemeber!!)Anyway, please don't languish in agony. You will always have another million crazy girl fans to pass the time.
Till never.
Love,
Me

Yo yo yo happy deeps ma biatches 'n' homies

Happy Deepavali!
Sorry I was a bit remiss due to my laziness.
hehe.
P/s: Can't believe I almost forgot but you all HAVE TO watch The Prestige. Its fantastically heartstoppingly unpredictably fascinatingly best(estly?) one of the most excellent films I've watched. Some say that the plot was discernable halfway through but I say, even if it was, there was no way you could have predicted its unfolding! So stop being a wet blanket and give it a slam dunka funk!
Pp/s: This was much (relative, I understand) better than what I originally planned which was : Watch it! Its freakin fantastic!

angsty
One, Ms Futardo, the only way you can say up yours to the male species is if all us become lesbian. together.**
Two, No female wants to be called promiscuous or a man eater. The former implies STDs, the latter implies some sort of cannibalistic aggressive unflattering butchness. So maybe, you wanna rethink the title of your next song.
Just a thought. and please.shut.up.

Sex Lies and Education....?

Its a fantastically witty take on sexual politics in college and stick up your arse political correctness. Written artfully with a rather tightly checked flow, which made me want to flip to the end to get over the excruciating what happens next but yet made me want to read every single word that led up to it. Think machoism in words.
Who knew that a jaunt to help a friend in Central Library could yield such a gem!!

Warning : Extra Long Post ahead
Anyway, Pornstar and I on Friday decided to be adventurous and go eat somewhere exotic for lunch and we went Little India! ( ok ya, i know, not VERY exotic since I am Indian but exotic for Porn Star la) and anyway, the long and tall of it (Midsomer murders quote!!) is we came up with this fantastic reject line for all the drunks sleazebags in the world.
I reproduce our genius ( with some modifications)
" hey babeeee, you looking lovely tonight. What's your name? "
"HI! my name is !IkGH (think !Xobile). I may look Chinese or Indian but I actually grew up in the wild plains of Zambia. I was taken away by a wild hurricane when I was but a kid. However, I was raised by a kindly tribe and soon, I was the strongest in the tribe. I was so strong I could kill the deadly and evil " Rhiknoaseraos!!", otherwise known as the Rhinoceros in English, which had been plaguing my village. But sadly, soon after that my whole tribe was wiped away by an AIDS epidemic. I survived because I was the strongest but I decided in tribute, I was going to go around the world and educate people about the horrifying disease. I named my organisation World Aids Association! (WAA!), in honour of the sound that my tribal leader made when I brought home the deadly "Rhiknoaseraos!!" and am now a subsidiary of the IMF.
" Oh the, International Monetory Fund?"
" Oh no, the I M Female orgnisation, in charge of providing women with outrageous alibis"

a poem + a rant = Prat
is like saying iron dipped in steel bends ;
or that Kane and Abel are on the mends ;
Or acknowledging burkhas as new trend.
In the deep recesses of district ten,
where resides the Barbies and Kens,
is my campus with construction men
moonlighting as the NUS law den.
Jack and Jill went up a hill to fetch a pail of water
We go up the hill to show off our heels and just totter
If only Jack and Jill were here; they needn't catch the water
Its central catchment area, they can find it in the gutter!!
Oh woe me, I guess its all my fault
with not even a Honda in the vault,
let alone, being part of the Cooper cult
where to walk up the hill would be an insult!
Oh well, moved we completely have
to postulate why would be remiss
when we need the time to nav-
igate our way through the abyss
( ok you can tell the last stanza was so a filler but hey, I'm losing all my creative juice walking up the damned hill.)
I say, jolly good and move the blasted campus to Siglap! (To which, my ever compassionate father says "Think about the people in the West!!" Eh excuse me, are you not the same father who drove into the campus in your car and said, " This is probably one of the few times you, and this car are going to be here at the same time." Anyway, its not like they thought of us when they moved to Kent Ridge right! Besides, doesn't it have a nice ring to it -- " From the East to the West mofo"
Think of all the possibilities
1) THERE IS A HIGHWAY NEAR BY! So all you can cruizzzze control. Plus there is ECPark, the longest park in Singapore. And if you miss BTC, you can bloody well walk halfway there till Sheares Bridge!!
2) Food. walking. distance.
3) There is more than one bus that leads to food not in walking distance.
4) Lots of food everywhere. ITS KATONG!
4) The bus does not pretend to stop at a Katong Mall or Siglap Centre like it pretends to stop at Serene Centre.
6) Not all the centres look like Siglap centre. (i.e. Parkway Parade)
7) There are busES that go to relevent places. One to city hall. One to town. TWO buses to Bugis and one that goes Aljunied (ok not so important) On the other side, got lots of buses that go everywhere (ok look here, coherence is not the issue here)
8) There is a library near by! ( the word library not preceded by CJ Koh. You know the other kind, where other people patronise to read normal books that make it on the NY bestseller list.)
9) There are other schools near by to provide various shades of eyecandy. Possibilities are no longer limited to law years one to four. and er, CCAB.
10) The place actually looks inhabitated. If you need a whiff of poshness and miss the hill, you have Opera Estate. ( you can't do the reverse in BTC, aight.)
11) STARBUCKS! COFFEE. COOOOFEEEEEEEE.
12) er hello, proper drainage. Walking to Adam road, caught in the rain, requires an oar. Sometimes a kayak as well.
13) Its very near my house! ( eh, look here, who's the owner of this blog, me or you?)
and lastly because I believe the campus is a jinx. My laptop has become irreparable, I have been splashed on by gutter water, caught in the rain, have had kahlua latte running across my fingers and lips, lost my sliipper in a puddle and had to trawl about a bit before I retrieved it, ( technically this wasn't BTC but it was on my way to uni so you know its the thought that counts yada yada) , whacked a couple of people on the way out of the bus ( bad karma and all), got stomped on by a brat, missed my second tutorial, lost my way and stubbed my toe and i'm pretty sure various other mishaps await me ( and if anyone of you dare say its because I am ME, and hence possessing she male-ish tendencies, hopelessly ungraceful and klutzy in a completely non endearing non chick lit way, you are probably right but I probably DO NOT WANT to hear it and prefer it to blame in on the dust of BTC which is intefering with my brain signals)
So there.

Scum
For the uninitiated, (God bless your lucky soul), the song is just about the protagonist ( or is it the antagonist, since she is the unfaithful one, making her the villain.. hmm) snivelling about how she cheats on her boyfriend and she knows he knows and it kills her to watch him feel all pathetic but she can't help herself so she feels like a murderer.
JOLLY GOOD FOR YOU.
(lyrics)
I have absolutely no respect for cheats. To say I take a dim view of them, is to say that Brad Pitt is passbly good looking. I think people who cheat in relationships are scum. And here you go snivelling about how you don't want to do it? THEN WHY THE HECK ARE YOU?
See, I understand that monogomy is not a concept for everyone. There are some people who excel at playing and that's okay. Players are fine ( relatively) because they KNOW they cannot have the cake and eat it too. So they throw lines like "Sorry sweetheart, tonight's just tonight. Tomorrow is a start of a new day" and "Yes hunny, I love you but I love all woman too". They make it clear that they are in it for no strings attached and are not looking for anything more. They do not play with the idea of getting into relationship and then cheating because they got bored.
CHEATS are the idiots who want their cake and want to eat it too. Saying crap like I love him/her enough to make him/her my bf/gf but I cannot help it if I stray. YES, YOU BLOODY WELL CAN. You be decent and get out of the relationship and then stray all the bloody well you want. You do not just stay in a relationship because you are just USING the other person to provide you a backup. That is not what a relationship is about.( unless in which you guys have some sort arrangement that I am not privy to )
And this song annoys me more because you say you don't want do this anymore but you can't help yourself. Bloody escapist mentality. Just face facts that you are a coward and you can so HELP it. Its all the more despicable because you know he knows and yet you do it ( and what the hell is wrong with him. This obviously ain't a one time thing. What you, a dunderhead?) and then you write a bloody song about it and expect sympathy. What's worse is you talk about putting him out of his misery, not by halting your cheating, but rather by thinking about shooting him. ( damn the metaphor, bloody annoying song) Nice. Real nice.

Ah, the joys of parenthood :)
Mum: No! You know, I hate making decisions
Dad: Well, I'm not making it. She's your daughter as well.
Mum: No.
Vasudha: Well, somebody make it and tell me!
Mum: Fine. Vasudha, you are no longer my daughter! You are your appa's daughter!
*turns to dad* HA! Let's see who's making the decision now huh?
It is rather gratifying to know my mum would rather disown me than make a decision.

Men think about sex every six seconds, like now, now, now aaaaaand now
Just a little over 2 years ago when JC Chasez first decided to get his balls back from who ever he rented it out to at the formation of N'sync, (espcially since Justin Timberlake did a fantastic job after getting them back,) he came up with a song called "All day long, I dream about sex"
So, me being me 2 years ago, who liked to randomly belt out songs when bored, decided to innocently choose this song to showcase my idolesque talents. After which sweet, swe-eet, innocent Deb looks at me and says
"Is that really a song?"
"Yes"
"You're kidding me!"
"Nono, really! Its by Jc Chasez"
"Man, I don't believe you. I think you made that up
(In hindisght, I don't blame her really, because you don't need a songwriter to help you write "All day long, I think about sex, All night long I think about sex, All the time I think about sex, with you" You just need a pimply 14 year old guy and Jack Byrne. Sometimes you can even do without Jack Byrne.)
Yesterday, however, my honour was salvaged because Wade Robson *cue smiley heart face and falling rose petals* decided to do me a personal favour, even though, er, he has no idea how personal we are and that erm, he has no idea it was a favour but its just matter of geography alright. ANYWAY, Wade Robson *cue smiley heart face and falling rose petals* featured not only, JC Chasez on his show but made him sing, yup you guessed it, "all daaay long, i think abouttt sexxxxxxxx" at the FINALS of The Wade Robson Project and it wasn't any two bit opener, it was the FINALE song.
So Deb,
I got MTV on my side aight.

And when I was in India as a kid, I was the Oppukku Chappani. hahahhaa.Oppukku Chappani / Chappan / Chappa
Etymology colloquial tamil - A player who is included in the game just for the sake of being included. Usually happens when the two teams are well balanced and there is no match for a weaker player who has to be included for the game to continue. He is usually not allowed to bowl and almost all of his actions are inconsequential to the outcome of the game. However if he takes a catch or effects a run out while fielding the batsman is declared out. Several scenarios can force or warrant including such a player; Eg. Scenario 1: A visiting cousin of a talented local player. Such a cousin is usually underage or not very talented but if he is not included in the game, the local player is also not allowed to play cricket by their parents/family
Oh, so funny
Saturday, July 22
long or short, its all up to you baby :)
The short version:
I met everybody and everything was fine
End post.
The long version:
First things first, do not watch Mistress' of Spice*. Yup, that's the movie review. I really wish I could tell you more, espcially about the plot but I really cannot because of nooj.** (Oh yes, ITS ALL YOUR FAULT, contrary to your opinion here). I was constantly accosted with her kissy faces. Everytime I turned, she gave me suckface face. tsk. A dream for many, I know but since she does not come equipped with her own set of balls ( metaphorical not included), I was less than enthusiastic. heh. ( Its like Jo's obsession with my nose. She says it reminds her of chocolate and she always wants to bite it because its there, just sitting there. Oh dear, and all this while, I thought it was ok not to have wanderingnoseonfaceititis. Halfway through a movie, she'll turn and go "Vasu, can I bite your nose? " And the answer invariably is "hmm, HELL NO!")
But its ok because we {Nooj and I [but Jo and I also can.(Note the mathematical use of brackets!!)]} put the mad back into the glint for you. heh. I think she should come with a warning sign because its like somebody put phosphrous and lit a match in her ( Science analogy!! Science analogy!!) and its so not my influence, alright? Because that kind of craziness isn't cultivated. Crazy with a capital Ks are born not made. FYI, Vish was there too (Does this remind you of the story of George Bernard Shaw? It is, except that Vish is less important. hahaha. )
I also,
and it was fun too. (as in fun too because alliterating was fun because how often can you alliterate things!!!) Its probably one of the longest conversations we had and we didn't giggle all that much. It was serious and smart minus moments like when she also told me to start a new trend to liven up Singapore and start saying "safe" (which is like cool, so instead of cool, say safe) which is the new word in London (innit. which annoyed her.)? or when she did this completely safe accent of this drunk dude in her dorm room. I should record it. Its funny because she's doing a cockney accent and her mouth moves all over the place like she's chewing a piece of old leather. heh. And since we cannot make it photo takers, behold a picture of pink sparkly shoes, that she especially wore because she was dressing up for me. *aww*

Had a good FALAFALL at Samar with Meg, Josh and Ras. Its Meg's word obsession. And she says it with such a Russel Peters Indian Accent and she kept saying it because we had dinner at Samar. Not recommanded for plant eaters because you can only eat the FALAFALL sandwich and its not really worth it. But we had dessert at this really lovely quaint Russian place. Going out with them, made me realise I completely forgot how unintentionally funny Meg and Josh are . Like when Meg stage whispered an insult and I was like "I can so hear you", Josh is like all serious and preppy, in his higbrow cultured accent "You are meant to, you know" and I'm like "DUH! I KNEW THAT!" And how he asked Ras the exact same questions the last time he met her and he was like "Damn!" when she informed him he gave the exact same comments. How we made him guess Ras' faculty and he was listing all the faculties and Ras was like "Obviously, you don't think I am very smart". Nice times indeed :)
Speaking of dinner, met Asha and her friend at Plaza Singapura for some pizza loving. Only Asha can make going to the library sound like a job for an idiot.
"Why are you at the library! In the evening, In town!"
"To return books...?"
"Oh."
And its so weird, because her friend called me Vasud and it struck me that people just call me Vasud or Vasu now. Its just weird because that's what my name is now. Nobody really calls me Vasudha any more, not even people I just meet. So I have decided to start a movement to recover my name. Its going to be the "GASP! Name of Mine is Endangered" [GNOME] movement ( A bit duh but hey, short notice okay?) so I will not respond unless people call me Vasudha ( and no, that does not include Vasu Srinivasan. Contrary to popular opinion, that's my dad's full name you are calling ( not Vasu, Srinivasan..) and trust me, he probably does not appreciate it, not from a young punkass like you)
So anyway, we spent the whole night ragging the waiters because they took FIFTY MINUTES to deliver my order and they kept sending the earnest shy looking one because we kept making bitchy comments. We so wanted the mat chindian looking one because he was so friggin' annoying, strolling about, NO, swaggering about. To his credit, he was good looking but you know, how we all like looking at posers but love to bring them several notches down. We had all drama mama scenarios that we were going to devise and walk out on Plus, he didn't have much going for him in the brains dept because we signalled to him and asked him twice for water. Obviously, cannot be that smart if he can't even get the most guttural form of communication : hand gestures!! (Yes, yes, I'm the bitchy indian customer that all my friends in the service industry hate) I got to fluster him for like twenty seconds when I said "Did you guys forget my order" and he gave some lalalala*** about how the order went throught but the kitchen lalalala*** They were nice even to give us a complimentary garlic bread but it tasted blah so no brownie points for that. Kudos for the thought
I am not going to mention Shaan because Asha smacked me enough and I scared. Even though Shaan is in a different country, she got the power. But I love her loads. Right, you hear that. LOADS. MASSIVE AMOUNTS. Huge Ass Love. ( This is because I didn't send her off.) To Shaan: its got nothing to do with that. I loved you anyway
And I really wasn't going to say anything about my brother because he complains that I make him sound like the family idiot on my blog. He contends that I never chronicle his finer moments, his witticisms and his charm but all I do is nitpick and hence, readers of my blog, conclude all he is good for, is nothing.( Makes sense, after all, my parents made him at home for nothing) Someday, if he starts his company, nobody might take him seriously because they read my blog ( I'm really touched that he thinks I have this much of an impact) and hence, he'll have no business and he will go bankrupt, his wife will leave him and he'll be trawling the streets. But seriously, how to when he comes up with gems like this
( Let me remind you, my bro has an extensive background in Science, it culminating in him doing a masters in biomedical engineering and an undergrad in chemical engineering)
"Pick one"
"I don't like blue or red. But if you combine it, you'll get one of my favourite colours"
"What? Black?"
And with that, I bid you adieu
* Especially with nooj
** Hence, the previous footnote warning

AARGH.
p/s: and on a final note on LT v MG ( I can't help myself. Especially since I am getting alot of non blog asoociated flak for this :P)
Alright, these things are subconscious alright. Its not like you are always consciously aware of rating someone so all of you can stop staring around suspiciously at your friends, alright. At the end of the day, you're not going to sit around and play every thing by the dammned theory. Its a theory. full stop.
And I agree, that every theory has some generalisations because you are going upon what you think is the majority. There is always going to be certain ampunt of populace that is never going to fit in any theory.
so lalalalala to all of you k :)

last and definitely least
Perhaps, I was not very clear in my earlier post but permit me to clarify
1) The ladder is a hypothetical ladder. Just because you rank someone attractive, higher, does not mean that you will jump into bed with them, no questions asked.I credit men with brains. If you were in a relationship with a 6 and a 9 came along, guy in question in all probability would consider sleeping with her but may NOT ACT UPON IT due to various reasons. But hypothetically
2)Misconception 1: ATTRACTION here does not make up physical attraction alone!! Attractiveness is subjective and can compose of various other components such as charm, connectivity, chemistry, position, money, educational qualifications, ideals, thoughts etc. etc amongst these looks ranking according to your own prioratisation and hence, how you rank the individual
3)Attractiveness is something you look in for a friend. Please read point 2 again before you all flap your mouth and say "OMG! you're only friends with good looking people". You need to like someone even if you just want to be their friend, duh. Men do NOT need 2 ladders because they are capable of handling someone they have slept with still as a friend because that attraction has not diminished. For women, because the act of sex is SUCH, it becomes a wee bit more complex
4)I was asked, does that mean all my guy friends want to sleep with me?
(Let's put the theories aside and let me reassure you, yes, they do :D)
If I rank up high enough on that person's ladder, then yes. If not, then he'd not want to sleep with me voluntarily, unless combined with a certain number of factors, one of which is probably copius amounts of alcohol. He would not want to sleep with me but if circumstances were such, and he did, he would still be able to treat me as per normal. But the question here,if yes, is whether or not he acts upon it. Refer back to pt 1
Misconception here, is that the ladders are all batting for the same team. So FYI, Person you want to screw may not want to screw you back!
But the thing here is, if there was a guy who was not into me but I was into him, he'd have no qualms about sleeping with me yet still maintaining a sense of normalcy in the relationship. If there was a guy who was into me but I was not into him, there's no way I'd let him near me with a ten foot pole. because I, as a female, define sex differently and hence, unless there was a set of circumstances which allowed him to jump ladders, (in this case, probably not)a guy encased as a friend will not be slept with. Men, on the other hand have no qualms with sleeping with a friend.
I'm not being rah rah feminist. I said men have brains.
Excuse any incoherence or incomplete sentences. dueced sleepy.
Further questions or debating, please msn or call me. Because I seriously think my blog, can be put to better use than as a ping pong table :)

Step-ladder or a step ladder...?
Disclaimer: I am NOT being feminist and going on a rah rah rant about men. I’m just here to say that the principle behind the Ladder Theory is not completely BS and it expresses a sentiment that I think is true. But just because I agree with some of it and am doing my best with my own explanation, I do not agree with everything said in it and I do agree, that it could do with some language polishing. ( Seriously, women make slow passionate luuuuuuurve. Men f*** like animals) TWO, as always, its not a one stop shop so obviously there are going to be exceptions both ways so I’d very much appreciate if you would not pick some bra burning feminist who wants to act, think and be a man, or a metro or a uber guys who want intensely feel their feminine side right. This is what I think the general rule is.
The idea behind LT is simply because Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus.
1) Men can have 2 ladders too AKA I can be friends with a woman I want to sleep with. I can have female friends I do not want to sleep with
Uh right. The question here is WHY. Because you are attracted to them. Ok, to qualify here, attraction may not necessarily just be physical attraction but a composition of other factors. ( Er, I do not recommand the LT’s deconstruction of attraction because it is rather dubious and erm, biased) Anyway, the premise is that you would not sleep with a person you find unattractive by choice. ( Shenagians taking place under the influence of alcohol is tricky but I classify it as not voluntary, because you’re not conscious and two, if you need alcohol to sleep with her ( and obviously I’m talking about copious amounts here, not the glass of red wine you use to set the mood and other 101 things that males think are slick seductive tactics. FYI, WE KNOW) obviously THEN you are not attracted to her. Need I say more?)
The problem here, of the single versus double, lies in the definition of sex. For men, the act of SEX is defined differently than for women, such that they can CONSIDER and ACT upon sleeping with someone they may not find attractive, if the need arose ( with external aid of course. I’m not that cruel.) The reason why you only need one ladder is because the act of sex is just that to most males, sex. So I can have sex with a woman=1 whom I considered a friend before and still be friends with her the next morning.
But ah, with women, its a whole different ball game. Women need all the schinding, they need commitment, they want the champagne and they want the roses ( nope, no red wine still). Why? Because women are emotional. It is much harder for them to separate the intellect and the emotion from the sex. Sex is about making luuuuuuuurve. Hence, they’ll find it harder to be friends with someone they have slept with - if they are attracted to him, they expect something more. If not, they try to creep away before breakfast.
Ok, I hear alarm bells ringing because you’re thinking, then why are there men who are not friends with the unattractive women they have slept with. Chances are the male guy thought it was okay but the female was attracted to him and hence, she expected something MORE. MORE scared the boy and he ran away. That’s that. OR he is gay and he regrets it horribly but classifies IT NEVER HAPPENED because you don’t swing the same way ( I mean, guys, if you happened to have gay sex, and you were straight with no fetishes, you’re really not going to be announcing it to the world aight?) OR he has not figured out he is gay.
2) Mating Game is different from Ladder theory because it permits a scenario where a man can be friends with a woman whom has would never consider having sex with.
Precisely. A guy is friends with a woman he would never consider having sex with, ( assuming because she is Unattractive), its just that for men, its on the same damned ladder, because men do not have intellectual whores. They have guy friends for that. Men got that down to a pat. Women, on the other hand are confusing things by saying there are platonic relationships. There are no platonic relationships, only guys I am not attracted to but I’d like you well enough if you were a girl so I’m going to pretend you are a girl.
Under the Mating Game theory, men can be friends with an unattractive woman whom they would never want to sleep with – but such a person is someone whom they would never date because the ultimate goal of dating is mating.
The Mating game explores two people who are mutually attracted to each other at the beginning before you are sized up to be a mate. The Ladder theory explores the after - After the date, which part of the ladder do you fall on? The ladder theory does not advocate random sleeping around with woman . It provides a scenario where you can’t get your number 9 so you go for a number 1.It’s a back up plan. It’s a bastard-y thing to do because the only way the women who is unattractive to you will sleep with you is if she is attracted to you, so basically you are leadin her on but hey, if we are bitches, you guys can be bastards for a while. ( and yes yes, I know they are not opposites but for argument sake)
3) The attached friend
It is a bold but fallacious assumption to state (and I quote directly): “If they are attached, you are only being their friend in hope that something more can develop when they are single.”
Cut me some slack. It’s a bloody tagboard with a 200 character limit. I needed succinct expression without flooding your tag-board.
At this juncture, I’m going to ask for a little leeway because I’m in an Alan Shore mood, so please indulge me in my candour. I’m going to level with you and grant you a few concessions.Men are sexual creatures. When we’re not physically undressing an attractive woman, we’re doing so mentally.
Thank you but its PRECISELY because of that you do not need a friend ladder. Because the intellect and emotion, is kept separate from sex. Hence, why friendship and sexual compatibility can co exist on the same ladder.
The other reason (and I don’t see how this point could have been missed) is that we befriend an attached girl because she is nice. It’s not rocket science. If an attached girl is nicer than the norm (and many of them are because they have less frustration and angst than some single females do), then that could be a really good reason for being her friend.
I befriend an attached girl, (as in I purposefully seek her out to be my friend) , because she is nice. Also because, YOU WANT TO GET TO KNOW HER BECAUSE SHE IS ATTRACTIVE TO YOU. How many unatttactive nice girls you become friends with, out of your own accord? You hear, that silence, ya, that’s right. ZERO.
You cannot deny that you settle for being an attractive attached friend’s “friend” in hope that something will develop, that when the loser of her bf dumps her, she’ll cry into your shoulder and hence set the stage for your transition into dating utopia, which may or may not occur because she may or may not find you attractive. ( chances are she’ll go back to loser boyfriend) But reason stands, that if you were really attracted to her and she was unattainable, you would not want to prolong the heartbreak, knowing she is unattainable UNLESS there is a little bit of foolish hope present that someday, or until someone better comes along, something might happen. Qualification : When I say friends, I do not mean acquaintance, I mean a real friend, that you attempt to pursue a true friendship, to get to know her, what makes her tick etc. etc (and this is so not linked to altruism. If a guy wants to know what makes you tick, he’s feeding you a line in hope that you’ll overlook the fact that he’s actually a 2 on your ladder even though you’re a 6 in his and sleep with him. )
Moreover, being attached makes her seem less attractive because she is less attainable. Since, men do the pursuing traditionally, unless the woman is really worth the effort, say a 9 or he’s got something to prove to himself, he is not going to expend the effort truly pursuing her. There is no bad boy syndrome for guys as there is for girls (unless the bad girl in question is easy, and likes to spread her legs as much as her love ).
AH! You go but then how come, a guy pursues a realtionship with a person he swore never to ( Its alright with girls because we are fickle). The good thing about men, is that because they have one ladder, there’s no jumping around. The only way is up. If a girl is unattractive at first to you but after becoming a friend, she becomes more attractive, she moves up your ladder, hence the chances that you’ll sleep with her becomes higher.
Remember the ladder theory is not about mutual attraction, because if there is mutual attraction, there wouldn’t be a problem. The problem here is the uncertainty and the unrequited hormones.
You don’t have to suscribe to this theory. You don’t have to ackowwledge this, you do not have to mentally picture any of your female friends as attractive. You can also be spared the trauma of imagining them nekkid.
But deep down, you know. You SO know, this might have a shred if truth in it.
Prosecution awaits

Random bits of solar space

Current desktop : winamp player that I love.
( I love doing this kinda thing. Reminds me of pop art by Warhol)
1) I am going to watch Fast and Furious: 3. True, its a guy version of a chick flick, its like an extended fiddy cent video with all that ass shaking, jap style ( hey, hey, its all about cross cultural harmonisation) BUT have you seen those cars move? Its pure 100% mindblowing cool personified. Everytime they slam the gearbox, my heart lurches. Everytime, they drift, my breath whooshes out. You want an imagery of cool, it isn't going to get any better than this.
2) Jo is smarter than me. Not all the time, hahahah, but on Tues, she got the best of me. Geographically. You know that word game we used to play when we were younger, the one where we have to come up with a word starting with the last letter of the previous word, we were playing the country version of that and within 20 seconds into the game, I could not name an A country. I mean, so many countries end with A, you would some countries would have the damn decency to name themselves after the first letter of the alphabet. I mean, half the countries used the damn Latin alphabet. tch. no repsect for roots.
3) I'm displaying an unhealthy disregard for the world cup. It feels wrong but I feel detached from the proceedings. But I'd want England ( I can see those eyebrows stretching to your hairline, pull it down) Spain or Italy to make it. Hell, I wouldn't even mind seeing Aussie or Serbia Montnegro get it ( ok S&M purely for entertainment purposes.. Who keeps the trophy eh? Is it like divorce proceedings, 6months in Serbia and 6 months in Montenegro? Or god forbid, will they actually fight for it? Well, *touchwood* wars have been fought for less but hmm, mankind never will cease to amaze me)
4) You are all ordered by the movie critic of this blog to watch Brick.
5) Bizzare conversation with Lavan where we started quoting lyrics from Prince's Raspberry Beret and he says
it's better to be cold than warm...becos with cold u can pile on more lawyers...but with heat, u can't peel ur skin (emphasis my own)
and then I tell him to put a sock in his lameness ( pun on law profession etc. etc. and i came up with a brilliant one about "court" warmers***)and he says
i realised my typo
i meant pile on more *layers
Obviously being on the dean's list has affected this poor boy more than we presumed.
P/s: Despite the tragedy of (1) , this is why she's still my friend :)

This is Home, truly, as my senses tell me
Now, let me be presemptous and inject a bit of a logical deduction here. Okay, heis being fined for something he is supposedly doing with an aid of an instrument, but without such an instrument, the act of doing cannot be accomplished so he is being fined for something he cannot do.
Simply put, "Got no TV, watch what TV, pay what fine."
Ah, but such logic is obviously too much for the person attending him because the reply he gets is "Excuse me sir, then you are being fined for not informing us for not having a TV"
First of all, I know this is Singapore, but please leave the mindless switching around of entities for GRCs aight? It is unfair for you to inform somone about a fine and then change the terms subsequently after being informed he cannot be fined under that category. Two, what kind of logic is that? It makes sense that when I accquire something, I have to inform relevent authorities. It is a crime ( in the loosest sense of the word) when I continue to use something that I need to have the relevent documents .
Failing to inform you that I allowed my license to lapse because I HAVE NO TV is not a crime.
I DO NOT NEED A LICENSE FOR SOMETHING I DO NOT OWN.
And what takes the cake (and eaten too) when he asked her why, she said "Cuz it is"
Do I hear the welcoming chimes of " Uniquely Singapore?"

revelations
P/s: I finally figured out a use for my brother. Who knew it took all of ONE tag message to halt the rather amusing soap opera on my tag-board. Obviously, he was not kidding when he threatened K***t and him were going to be bouncers at my tender age of 14. Wow. Words really fail me at this moment.

To cast a man who is but a shadow of himself
Nay, there are worse things out there like...
Rumours on the net that they want to cast Vincent Cassel as Gambit.
Righhhhhht. Ok, I give it to him that he's all lithe and wily looking, especially in Ocean's 12, playing human tag with the laser in the museum. I'll even acknowledge, that perhaps, he's cunning enough to pull of Gambit, character wise.
But may I remind you, Gambit looks like this. Remy LeBeau ( His name just rolls of your tongue. Remy LeBeau. Remy LeBeauuuuuu ) is a guy who is sleek, powerful and sensuous. He doesn't throw cards, he flicks his hand. This guy is a BAD GUY personified - mysterious, smooth and composed with a constant smirk playing about his mouth.
And Cassel looks like this.

SERIOUSLY!! Bad picture or not, I cannot imagine him swinging by in his trench coat, flipping his cards with precise speed and precision, with a smirk upon his lips, conquering women's hearts all over the world. He's good to play Gambit as I am going to ever be a mathematician.
Other supposed favourites are

Scott Speedman : the guy from Felicity.
Umm right, I can see him in a trench coat, yup. Flipping cards, yup. But not as Gambit. His face is all wrong, too nice and soft. Too Mr-Nice guy. None of that stark torture tormenting his soul face

Harry Connick Jr : guy from nothing I can really recall
Umm. RIGHHHHHHHT. This requires no explanation. Nada. Zilch.
A few others like this guy called Norman Reedus, who had a role in Blade 2 ( yup the movie, where Ryan Reynolds should have just shut up other than his witty one liners) and get this, Jason David Frank.
Who is he?
Remember Power rangers..?
Hold on, it gets a bit worse,
remember WHITE RANGER?
Hold on, it gets a tad worse,
he runs his own karate school Rising Sun Karate. I'm sorry, I really don't mean to make fun of him because his karate school is one of the top 10 schools in the States so he's some big hoochie.
But how am I supposed to take him seriously, when his welcoming message says "What are you waiting for?"and one of his instructors look like this.
I know, this has nothing much to do with Gambit, Oh wait, it does. White Ranger = Gambit. OVER MY DEAD BODY. (and a few others, I hope). I know we all had a love-hate relationship with Power Rangers but admit it, they were but a poor substitute for Transformers (and I don't even like Transformers that much. hold the hailstones, I admit its a crime.) but even if my reasoning is not sound, it is my duty to comment upon stupid things. Like having an instructor that looks like Taylor ( of AI 5 fame) with specs.
But I digress..
So far, the hot contender is (*edit: If I am not mistaken, I think I read somewhere he might have got the role... YAY!)

Jonathan Rhys Meyers : Guy from Gormenghast, Velvet Goldmine and Bend it Like Beckham
Now, YOU'RE TALKING! Barring the fact, that I have loved this fellow since I was 14, he's perfect. He has the bearing, the cheekbones, the tortured soul look, a bit on the thin side for Gambit, but nothing a little weight training will not solve. Even then, he'd be graceful, leaping about, flicking his cards complete with the disdainful look upon his face. *ooo*
And if you fail to see what I mean....

http://www.forreststevens.com/htmlgraph/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.snazzystep.blogspot.com
This is something that is so unbelievably cool. See your website as a graph!! I mean, its so unique and it records down all your tags and uses some mathematical thingamajig to see the frequency that they are used, how they are nested within each other.
Concept taken from here And he's done a few graphs for the most famous webbies, google.com, yahoo.com, etc. etc
And from there, his other website, onethousandpaintings.com caught my eye and I paid it a visit. A very simple and fantastic idea, on the verge of almost being a con, because its probably something that most of us have toyed with in one form or the other and now feel all "wa lau" that some swedish fella got there before us but anyhoo, its quite an interesting concept.
And it got me thinking, my oh my, people would really pay for anything. I mean, its a number, a plain simple standardised number that is available only as limited copies, true but nevertheless a number on a canvas that is so ordinary that it can be reproduced anywhere. Other than the fact of supporting art and in the name of experimentation, of course, I wonder why people would pay money for this. But mark my words, this would probably become famous and it'll become a rage, simply because random things like these always do and then you feel "I should have done my idea earlier"and you feel inspired for a nano second and then you procrastinate.
Which is what I have been pretty much doing these holidays. Procrastinate, there's always something to read on the net and there's always something to watch on tv. Its a delicious feeling but a terrible one as well. Because I am going throught this panic Rarrrr mood, where I realise this is IT. This is how I am going to be for the rest of my life. I am going to be 20! an age, 15 years ago, i thought everybody died at. I feel terribly old! AND i mean Olddddddddd, with the d dragged on till Malaysia.
Sighs. but looking at my room, one would be hardpressed to think so.
In other news, you are all commanded to try this by the official foodtaster of this blog. Me.

Its fantaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaastic. ( cue Oprah Winfrey kinda voice)
I got it from Watsons (Parkmall) at only $1.20!!!
So its cheap AND delicious.
No excuses. nuh uh. not one.

Shaan: erm, yes, "fun" is one way of looking at it. haha. and do you know, I actually stayed for the scene after the credits, thanks to you but its no loss.
Taryn: oh yes! i forgot that but that's still not so bad la. That ranks with my saying the lapis looks like the american flag minus the colours. :)
uradmirer : Please refer to chunk from my previous post. did you? I'm a bit freaked. How do you know who my brother is?
Nooj: I am not marrying you when I am 30.
Aravind: Thanks for the support. I don't see it but thanks anyway.
Remember, I panic very easily.

Piercings do not maketh a man.neither do clothes for that matter. You all know, what makes a man!

This is my current desktop because I think Raine Maida looks his best here. All dishy and intense, him looking straight at me everymorning, removes the pain of 1) not having a 'W' key because I refuse to pay a hundred bucks to replace something THAT IS NOT MY FAULT ( or atleast until I am a bit richer), 2) the ALSAing and 3) idiots in general.
His looks speak a thousand words and if I ever needed a motivational coach, I want him to look like this because can you imagine him saying " You can do it, I believe in you" , straight into your eyes, holding your hands, ooooooof. Yes I can imagine him and now you all know what I do in my spare time.
Well, ALSA is over and what a week it has been. Loads of fun, bitching and getting to know people that I never thought I would know, making sport of people I never thought I would. Never getting back home before twelve, coming up with nefarious p(l)ots and p(l)ans. Always forgetting to meet Meg online as I sleep. Come up with brilliant ideas and assissting with more brilliant ideas churned by the brain-o-matic herself. Owing meg lots more money as I expose her to my true klutzy ditzy self. Starring in my own sequel after the reserruction of VA-SU-DHA, Our very own craft show "At home, with Megan Joan". Listening to RENT songs over and over as my music taste was horribly maligned. Oh the pain! Extending my friendship with the Thai transvestite prostitute nail girl and getting horribly gone with her where she decides to play word games and sing at the top of her bloody voice. Sitting furitively in the Law club room, imagining the toyols that run amok at the bidding of their master. heh.Unfairly getting scared for no reason. hmph. Jumping up and down on the Holiday Inn bed saying "its overrrrrrrrrrrr" in tune to Akon's Lonely. Feeling my cholesterol jump up a few notches as I watched Shauna spread margarine. Coming up with proposal songs for Shauna...
*ahem*
Shauna Loo,
you're eyes are so "blue"
Shauna Loo
you make me wanna poo
Shauna Loo
please marry me and say I do
And two quotes I will never forget in all my days,
L***, at Holiday Inn, after emerging in her gown, wearing the nude bra, pointing to her chest area
"Never mind, you wanna touch? Its not my boob la."
L***, after knowing me, Vasudha Srinivasan, for a grand total of a year, asks
"So, are you Peranakan?"
Meeting the really nice delegates from the region made me feel lucky to be in Singapore. Because, sometimes, being in a small place is really fantastic. Everything gets done. I mean, de facto we are ALSA Singapore because we are the ONLY law faculty in Singapore and well, sometimes, you forget that the Privileges that come along with it, are Privileges and not the norm.
Okay, I'm tired of typing. Alsa was fun for a chore, partly because I managed to find something to do when there were talks. I'm sorry for being bitchy to some people, because it was probably unwarranted and snappish.
In other news, I ran down a slope to celebrate and I fell, and I have a really nasty scrape on my elbow, the kind you got when you were eight. So fun. I also lopped off my hair yesterday so its really short and ya, short.
I have also taken a solemn oath to try to never to swear as er, I swore when I was talking to my mum. And as you all have had minimal experience with my lovable mum, I transcript the conversation for you
Mum: WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?
Me: Er, nothing.
Mum: Ok, I am old, true, I am your mother, true but I am not an idiot. So please conduct urself as a good indian girl and do not use uncouth words etc. etc. etc.
The only problem I have with my parents is that they are my parents. =D
By the way, uradmirer, rather, erm, my admirer, its really interesting you ask whether Lavan is, godforbid, my boyfriend when he has left but two innocous messages on my tagboard and vish, omfg, who proposed a damnable harem, merits a who's this.....HMMMMMM...makes me wonder whether you are a spy from the faculty that I hail from. And as Lavan couched it in euphemisms, god forbid, I am not his girlfriend. The fella got loftier ambitions la, like Aishwarya Rai. And despite, Vish's unflagging enthusiasm in proposing a harem, he is but a good friend.
If there is anyone you should be worried about, its Nooj or Jo =)
And really, though I'm really flattered by your seemingly um, "relentless" pursuit, it is but a few messgaes on my tag-board. So please excuse me, if I have
1) not yet swooned into your (presumably hunky) arms
2) have a lot of misgivings about your existence in the real world.
3) somehow miraculously believed in your existence, expect alot more than a few tag messages.
If you are really real, which you are not, and if I have scarred you for life, which I'm pretty sure I haven't, don't you worry, there are lot more tagboards in cyber world eh?
And to the rest of you all, SHAME ON YOU :P
p/s: My phone can be texted but not heard. If you want to know how I would sound deaf in 70 years, then call me.

A dash of inside jokes in a pot of bitchiness
I think I shall rename myself as a Bella Veronica Vasudha Srinivasan AKA Girlwine Adams. My dad called me Bella because when I was a kid, the only words I could say was "bell ah?" even when someone knocked on the door. I threw in the Veronica because I was a huge Archie's fan and I remember fondly my pre- teen years, holed up in my room, hiding from the big bullies in the street, pretending I was a rich pretty bitchy girl. I was a born Hindu, but since I was in a convent in Primary school, an autonomous girls's school in my tender teenage years and a communist JC, I have decided for me to be true to myself, I have to embrace all faiths so you can call me a Hebrew Dutch. Or a confused cockroach. But I prefer the former.
My dream is to become the best veena player in the Hanumachi district and this dream evolved when I was 10 because my grandma said of me, "This girl here is useless, no smarts, no looks, no money. Atleast let her play some dammed music and bring in some money to the family." And I began to dream.
My biggest claim to fame is my really bad but heartfelt and sincere attempt to play "Smoke on the Water" on the veena . My family who have always been highly appreciative of music, have christened my attempt akin to a dog on his first sterilisation in an unknown island, like Sulawasi.
But I know its now or never

News from Vasudhaland
well, its been a mad crazy week, doing stuff for ALSA, singing along with megan and shauna in the law club room, Shauna wanting to kill us for making her come down to type stuff when she stays a mere $7.60 by cab away ( as opposed to us who fork out $20+++[ see, meg, i learnt stuff]) Listening to meg on a roll, pretending to be ambassadors for our lovely alsa bag.)
k k bye
* edit. Nooj is USELESS IN A CRISIS. I am half gone and all she can do is laugh about it. bitch. I think I talked like an idiot for the whole time. ( and all she could say was "aiya, that's no different from your usual self) but yay! she has a nice house and good food and since i have an open invitation to her house, Nooj can stay in hall while I ransack her place. MUAHHAHHA
as you can see, I'm still not fully capable yet. or thigum. oh dear.

Have you ever hugged 1?
I think so. After Pre U sem and matology =)
What's the best memories you have of 10?
erm. not alot. more as denise's friend.
Why are you friends with 9?
I dunno la. I try to make her go away but she doesn't! move to another country also she still hounds me. Sighs. hahha. because she is so fun to make fun of. If I had to pick one reason why I am friends with her, its that =D
When's the next time you're gonna see 6?
I have no idea. hahaha. I think we haven't seen each other after A's!
Tell something juicy about number 15.
heh. she's small but she packs a huge punch. She's got some crazy ideas floating in that cranium of hers. She's a rather huge fan of fried mars bar and its impossible for her to think about anything else while its there.
What do you like about 8?
She's real sweet.
Is number 4 attractive?
If she could shut up long enough about how men suck, are commitment phobic and how she likes 'em bald and old.
What was your first impression of 7?
Loud. crazy. giggly and ready to take on the world =)
How did you meet 3?
I think it was one of those random thingamajigs through nuha. And plus, I always thought she was called Gerladine. HAHHAHA
Do you think 13 could kill someone?
maybe by the power of her cuteness but otherwise naaaaah. Though it would be fun to see it. She'd probably use some hamster thinggy or some pokemon thing :P
Have you seen 12 naked?
er. no.
Has number 4 seen you naked?
hell no.
Would you ever kiss 5?
Maybe not. She kisses anything and everything. God knows what she's kissed :P
She's prob kiss me before I could get round to it :D
Do you think 2 has a crush on you?
Hahahhahahaaha. no.
Who do you spend the most time with?
erm, sadly not many of the people on the list.
What is the last thing you did with 1?
Came up with a damn good theory about mats and their movements.
Have you ever hung out with 2 outside of school?
I wouldn't really say hung out.
Have you ever been to 3's house?
nope.
How do you know 4?
part of 3203. and she persistently refuses to get out of my life
Have you ever slept with 5?
HAHAHAHHAHAHA. the questions is so damn telling. I'd really would like to come up with something witty but I can't stop laughing long enough to do it. I think Geet should be asked this one.
Do you think 6 is sexy?
If you go for the bald buddhist monk types :P
Have you ever liked 7?
i have ever liked her and am still liking her.
Where is the last place you went with 8?
some randon thingamajig with DH gang. I didn't go with her. i met her there =)
Are you real close to 9?
sighs. i guess the answer is yes. hahahha. she's so gonna whack me.
What kind of relationship do you have with 10?
a kinda non existent one
Have you ever kissed 11?
IF i did, hell, is she going to have issues. haha. I should try it for fun though.
Have you ever been to the movies with 12?
I think it was Shrek 2
Have you ever gotten in trouble with 13?
sure. hahahah. remember sec 1?
Would you ever make a move on 14?
nooooooooooooooo
What do you and 15 talk about the most?
random musings. and music. and books and how maldini scares the beejeezes out of her.

opulence
was memorising every inch of her. Together, they progressed, aware this may be the last night they might ever have.
The dunes shifted and the hot wind swirled about, foretelling his departure.
A shout echoed and he was gone.
The war had begun.
Inspired by Avaha Yeshana ( old love) by Azam Ali.
It starts off slow, bringing to mind, a vast desert in the middle east. The sand is swirling and the sirrocco blasts across forcefully, indicating approaching horses. A woman stands there, awaiting, eager yet terrified. As she sees the men's faces, she knows. And her heart breaks. The music swells, the beat of the drumfades into the background as the pregnant, rich and lush melody of the flute transalates the anguish with the overtones of the baritone. You see the woman, lying down, with her lover, knowing this was probably the last time she was going to see him. The last night before the battle. Their love making is tender but yet, she is shedding tears. They trickle down her cheek even as she turns away from him, not wanting to let him see her pain but unable to keep it inside. The baritone grows louder, precluding her grief, translating all she cannot say into words. She cannot bear looking at him but she wants, nay, needs to memorise him. He holds her, his strong masculine form comforting , willing her his strength as he is slowly tearing apart. He wished he could give her the promise she craved but he could not, torn between duty to the king and his only love. They are locked in this embrace as dawn slowly emerges. He beseeches her with his eyes to lethim go even as he is loathe to let her go. The music pars down to a mere flautist, reminding one of wispy smoke, as it trails upwards in a reedy thin column, as the the lone baritone slowly emerges to symbolise the woman's grief as she hears the horse hooves thunder away.
soulful.
heart wrenching.

pariah, no more
There I said it.
I do not want to just share my intelligence WITH JUST ANYONE, you know. Its precious and sacared. Not all you minions can understand the complex workings of my brain and well, rather than alienate you poor deluded fools, I bring myself down to your level.
(And here, I was so sad that I didn't warrant any hate tags. but thank you crusader, because NOW I am no longer an out-cast. I have joined the club of being spammed!!
**Its funny I got tagged about this because I was just complaining to J and L how I should come up with an illusion, like they have, about being intelligent because people oft think I am an idiot because I rarely pause and assess what comes out of my mouth. I will have to beef up my vocabulary and coat my bimbo-ness in long flowing dramatic posts.
** and thank you my knightess' in shining armour. )

right back 'atcha
TheBarmaid: So....
NotDimples: So....
TheBarmaid: You aren't going to ask for my number?
NotDimples: Well....
TheBarmaid: I don't understand. Help me understand. You talked to me all night.
NotDimples: I should go back in and hang out with my friends.
TheBarmaid: Oh? Are you gay? If you are, I'm sorry -- you don't have to ask for my number.
NotDimples: I'm not gay. But what would you say if I told you I was married?
TheBarmaid: Are you kidding?! I can't do this again this week. Where's your wedding ring? Where's, um, your wife?
NotDimples: I don't wear a wedding ring. And my wife is asleep across the street at our house.
TheBarmaid: I don't have time for this. I don't understand why you spent so much time talking to me tonight and this never came up.
NotDimples: Well, when you see a beautiful, sexy woman in a room, you have a conversation --
TheBarmaid: (spinning on heels and walking away) I've heard those superlatives before, this week, actually, and I have to go.
NotDimples calls after me and then retreats back into the bar to fetch his friend, Eric-with-a-K.
I cross the street and there is nary a cab in sight. I call my friend, who started the night with me and left a few minutes before I did, to fill her in on the tragic end of NotDimples and to philosophize (as you only can at 2 in the morning) as to why Philanderer's Quarterly has declared me "Centerfold of the Year".
Normally, the actions of NotDimples wouldn't have bothered me quite so much, but compounded with the rest of the week's events I was out for the count. I start a loud "NotDIMPLES WAS MARRIED! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?" conversation while trying to find a cab on the desolate street. At this point, NotDimples and Eric-with-a-K leave the bar, hear my conversation and exclaim, "Calm down! It's not that big of a deal!"
"You shut up!" I retort.
Enter the DCPD.
The police car turns the corner and pulls over to me. The officer rolls down the window of the passenger side.
TheBarmaid: "Officers. I know you're on duty and this isn't in your job description but I've had a really bad week. First I found out the guy that I've been sort-of involved with for the last seven months got engaged last month. And took me out to dinner this week. And failed to mention it to me. Then that guy over there spent all night flirting with me [Officers turn to look] and it turns out he's married with a wife at home. It would be kind of great to make a big exit right now."
Officer1: "Get in."
Officer2: "Guys are scum. We'll get him."
They pull a u-turn in the street, slowly tail NotDimples and Eric-with-a-K, activate the siren in a short spurt, and speed me away to better days and a brighter future.
I open the partition to talk to them on the way home. Turns out I'm the first Indian girl they've ever carted around in the backseat of the squad car. I thank them profusely for the rescue. Officer1 puts on his PR hat and says, "Maybe you can spread the word that, you know, police officers aren't horrible people." Officer2 goes into Media Relations mode and agrees, "Yeah, we have kind of a bad rap. We're good guys."
And that they were -- in one fell swoop turning a week laden with half-truths, deceit, and dishonesty into the night the DCPD drove me home in the greatest, grandest exit I've ever made in my life.
from here
Eh, i'll do this for you once I get my license [soon.er, real soon] and we'll affix a siren on my [dad's] car
P/s : I love the blog. Its so funny.

Join my music legion!
I have re discovered >>Our Lady Peace<<
The first time I listened to them was in sec 2, when I happened to catch "Life" on some obscure music program, in India ( of all places =]). I thought the song was nice but, er, I was still being weaned off 5ive,Westlife and the Thongthongthongthongthong . This was the period where I thought Oasis was trash ( i know. i never cease to amaze myself), and anything with a extended stanza devoted to guitar was a no-no. Sadly, a rather forgettable first impression
I was re introduced to it, when their 2002 album Gravity came out, by Nuha. Originally, I refused to enter because I thought was directing me to a porn site.( Perfectly acceptable conclusion because previously she directed me to whitehouse.com for "social studies". Its got alot of social studying alright, just not ideas I think would be appreciated by any of the O'level examiners). I was crazy about their first release "Somewhere out there" but I got over it becuase I was trying to pursue alternative tastes like Mr fiddy cent and"I'm-always-wearing-a-plaster-cuz-its-getting hawt-in-here" Nelly.
And then I discover them all over again recently and I
them! so much =)All their old songs from their 1994 - 2000 albums are fantastically terrific, its almost scary. Since, they've changed quite a few band members, during their course (I think Raine Maida, (vocals) is the only original band member left), each album is actually different, as though plugged out by a different band. The influences are constantly changing and its picked up and highlighted in a really rousing thumping sing along with me way. Plus, it doesn't hurt that Raine Maida (what a dishy name eh?) looks

like this * dreamy smile* =)
He's married though, to none other than Chantal Kreviazuk ( For the uninitiated, its a good thing you escaped the weepy blahness of Armageddon but missed out on her great cover of John Denver's "Leaving on a jetplane")
Welcome back craving addictive feeling of needing to listen to music over and over again. =)
**edit: oh, whitehouse.com no longer a porn site, as I was informed by my very "knowledgeable" friend. Its always good to keep up with current affairs yeah? Plus, I already know some buggers out there would have typed it in your PCs to check it out. So don't say I didn't warn you !
