This is Home, truly, as my senses tell me

Please go take a glimpse at yesterday's forum page for just an example how astonishingly stupid Singaporeans are. I do not know whether its because they're androids ( Command not recognised. Please press cancel and panic) or because the book said so ( Lidat lor. My boss say one, I donchno! You do, just do lor). Apparently, this guy received a letter from the MDA to say that he is being fined for not renewing his TV license, presumably because he is having a TV without a license ( frankly, this is the first I have ever heard of something so odd but I forget, this is the Land of the Free non?) , after which he calls them up and says it is impossible for him to renew his license because it has been close to 9 months since he OWNED a TV set.

Now, let me be presemptous and inject a bit of a logical deduction here. Okay, heis being fined for something he is supposedly doing with an aid of an instrument, but without such an instrument, the act of doing cannot be accomplished so he is being fined for something he cannot do.

Simply put, "Got no TV, watch what TV, pay what fine."

Ah, but such logic is obviously too much for the person attending him because the reply he gets is "Excuse me sir, then you are being fined for not informing us for not having a TV"

First of all, I know this is Singapore, but please leave the mindless switching around of entities for GRCs aight? It is unfair for you to inform somone about a fine and then change the terms subsequently after being informed he cannot be fined under that category. Two, what kind of logic is that? It makes sense that when I accquire something, I have to inform relevent authorities. It is a crime ( in the loosest sense of the word) when I continue to use something that I need to have the relevent documents .

Failing to inform you that I allowed my license to lapse because I HAVE NO TV is not a crime.
I DO NOT NEED A LICENSE FOR SOMETHING I DO NOT OWN.

And what takes the cake (and eaten too) when he asked her why, she said "Cuz it is"

Do I hear the welcoming chimes of " Uniquely Singapore?"
