I'd like some red tape today please

Recently, I sent a letter to a gahmen body regarding the derelict horror movieisque place with 3 poles, a roof and some seats that is commonly referred to as a bus stop opposite the campus and this is the reply I received, slightly edited.

Dear Vasudha,

We would like to inform you that the mentioned bus stop is under the bus
shelter upgrading programme. However, as this bus stop is also being chosen
for design competition, upgrading programme will commence once the winning
design is implemented. Thus, the new bus stop is estimated to be ready in
2008.

Meanwhile, we are reviewing the adequacy of the lighting level of bus
shelters islandwide for the purpose of improving them. We seek your
patience in this matter.

We thank you for writing in.

So, *deep breath* let me get this straight, the good news is that you are finally seeing that a little more light, than the kerosene lamp that you call a street light, in a PUBLIC place is not a bad thing.

The bad news is, I have to stub my toe, squeeze in with hordes of people, get bitten by bugs that sit on that disgusting mouldy brick wall, get wet from the lashing rain because you think that the bus stop needs its artistic soul soothed?

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Look here, the bus stop before and the bus stop after on the same road, all have been modified so why is this bus stop so special that it has to be preserved, not even in the circa 1998 design but in the orange candy striper 80's style and why do I, (and when I say I, I mean We) have to put up with this TILL NEXT YEAR. Do you know how many long months there are in between april 2007 and whenever in 2008?

Since when has the winning desgin really mattered,
GET ON WITH IT ALREADY!
