Stoked by electrico

So, Last friday completely rocked because I went to see electrico LIVE. Ok fine, UCC ain't the best place to rock it out and the mosh pit was a disgrace and there were probably a grand total of 8 people actually moving to the bloody music but it was so hooooooot.

Okay, to be honest, as I confessed to Hani on the way there, about 7 p.m. that I wasn't really a fan of Electrico. I mean, I didn't even really like Runaway or Love in the new wave. I liked Little Girl but hey one song do not maketh a band. And at that point, after seeing her face, I wish I could have said " Gotcha!" because that's how dismayed she looked. But, they totally rock-eddddd sia!

The opening act was bad but to be fair, I think it was partially because the sound balance was really off but man, the girl was so try hard courtney love. All that emo head banging and body slinking and druggie voice was so over played, I rolled my eyes one too many times and gave myself a fever. I blame you, bad bad NUS band for making me sick. literally.

Thank god, they checked out the sound balance by the time Electrico came on and I was soul'd. (I really wish I could stop making bad puns but I can't =D) The minute they came on, David, who is so hot when he sings, told the rest of us to join the "moshers". Me and hani basically just went ballistic. We were hopping up and down, head banging, jiving and grooving and basically rocking it out at the mosh pit. The security guys were like asking everyone to leave and we were just like"foo" but we squashed ourselves right at the edge of the "mosh pit" and kept jumping up and down. I was so annoyed by the audience reaction though. I mean seriously, for god's sakes, you are at a rock concert, you paid money to listen to some music, not just sit around to upload some crank 2 minute clip on youtube. And IT WAS THEIR LAST CONCERT before they were going to tour USA. And I was like, all you manjan ahbengs and lians, in your stiletto heels and your spiky hair, let loose damn it! And you wise cracking mat underage boy behind me, you can only dream about being half as good as they guys up on stage. Okay, you don't have to go crazy and I apologise for all the toes I stepped on but SERIOUSLY, you guys were such a waste of space.

From what I remember, they played Little girl =)=)=) and We're not made in the USA, which he made us sing along too and it was so fun!!!! They also played Hello and Fever fly. I didn't particularly enjoy Fever fly and their more upbeat songs because I think they sound a little too 80's electropop, which safe to say, I'm really not a fan of. I prefer their more mellow and slow songs and I absolutely loved the David and William's acoustic version All the world!! I thought it was done so well, it was so sweet and intense plus David has the whole wash over you kinda smooth voice, it's so fluid. Like how hani has a thing for skinny manjan boys like Desmond, I have a thing for lead singers with a really hot voice, uh duh, yes David =D I also came up with a really bad bad bad pick up line which was prompted by something David said, which Hani marginally improved after rolling her eyes, which is something I can't really rememeber now ( I think this sentence has too many whiches that grammatically correct).

All in all, it was fantastic and I think it was rocking I went with Hani (whose informative and coherent fangirling version of events can be found here . I would have never thought that when I first saw them at Baybeats, they would have made it this big they have! So please please, buy their album!!

Dear Vasudha,

You are the only person I have encountered who can give herself a fever by the act of eye rolling.

And you grew up with a BROTHER! Shame on you. You should have acclimatised your eyes to all that rolling by now! ;)

Singaporean Audiences are a bit bodoh innit? All sit prim and proper and shit. I was at a gospel concert by this amazing gospel group and its the kind of music you CANNOT SIT STILL AND LISTEN. So when I stood up, I heard a whistling wind in the esplanade concert hall from all the 'SHHHHHHH'es! Bloody Cheese Buns and Luncheon Meats.
